Start the spooky season on Friday, October 13 at Edison's Harvest Eve or Harvest Fun Fest on Saturday, October 14. Both events offer family-friendly Halloween activities including crafts, rides, and candy. When the sun sets, the brave can test their courage at the House of Horrors New Jersey. Show off your knife skills in one of the pumpkin carving contests in Edison, Metuchen, or Highland Park.
On October 27, teenagers with disabilities who register by October 23 are invited to the Halloween Disability Dance for "screaming fun." If you want lots of candy fast, head to Edison on October 29 or Highland Park on October 30 for a trunk-and-treat. Anyone looking to limit sugar intake should check out Metuchen's Haunted Downtown to walk a corn maze and jump in a pumpkin bounce house on October 28. On October 31, trick-or-treaters can visit downtown Highland Park shops and vote for the best Jack-O-Lanton at Halloween on the Avenue. Finally, check the Macaroni KID Edison calendar to find the Halloween celebrations at the farmer's markets and the libraries.
