As the days grow longer and warmer, communities come alive in June. From lively outdoor festivals to engaging community activities, June offers a perfect opportunity for families to create cherished memories. Whether you're seeking cultural celebrations or simple pleasures under the Sun, June's calendar is brimming with events designed to entertain the whole family.  

1) Kick off Pride Month in Downtown Metuchen on Friday, June 7. The Metuchen Downtown Alliance, Atlantic Health Systems, and Metuchen Human Relations Commission invite you to join the parade and house music party. 

2) On June 8 head to Roosevelt Park for Celebrate Middlesex Day. Learn all about the unique programs, services, and vibrant spirit that define Middlesex County. Enjoy live music, kid’s activities, roller skating, and more. 

3) Juneteenth is a time for vibrant and diverse celebrations that feature parades, music dance, and historical reenactments. This year Dr. Opal Lee, the revered "Grandmother of the Juneteenth Movement," will speak at the Juneteenth Freedom Fund Scholarship Gala on Friday, June 7. The Metuchen-Edison NAACP also planned a celebration on Saturday, June 8. Metuchen and Woodbridge will celebrate the holiday on Saturday, June 15.

4) Break up the week at the Metuchen Cruise Night on Wednesday, June 12. Car enthusiasts can marvel at a variety of collectible cars and enjoy DJ music in Downtown Metuchen.

5) Spend Father’s Day at the It Takes a Borough Race on Sunday, June 16. Proceeds will benefit community members who may have experienced a tragic event or unforeseen circumstances.

6) Celebrate the last day of school at Kids Take Over Downtown Metuchen on Wednesday, June 19. All school-age children will enjoy activities along Main Street.

7) Plays in the Park opens with Beauty & the Beast. The show will run June 19 - June 29 at 8 pm except for Sunday, June 23.

8) Highland Park Outdoor Movie Theatre will screen Rushmore on June 1 and No Country for Old Men on June 15.
