Become an Edison Junior Police Cadet

For Students in Grades 6 - 12

Gear up for an exploration into the world of law enforcement! Students in grades 6 - 12 are invited to apply for Edison Police Department’s Junior Police Academy programs this July. The academy is a chance for students to explore a career in law enforcement while gaining invaluable tips for crime prevention and personal safety. They will take a deep dive into fascinating topics including:

  • Patrol Bureau Functions
  • Special Operation Group Maneuvers
  • Heart-pounding K-9 Demonstrations,
  • Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Team Tactics
  • Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Simulations
  • Uncovering the latest Scams
  • Mastering Firearms Safety
  • Criminal Identification Secrets

Plus cadets will have the rare opportunity to go behind the scenes at Newark International Airport and see how officers from different law enforcement agencies work harmoniously to keep us safe.  

The high school program for students in grades 9 - 12 runs from July 16-19, while the program for middle school students in grades 6 - 8 is scheduled for July 22-26. Apply online at www.edisonpolice.org.
