These local farms, corn mazes, and haunted attractions near Edison, Highland Park, and Metuchen are open multiple weeks during the season, offering the perfect blend of fall fun and Halloween thrills:
- 4-H Haunted Hayride
- Join the 4-H teens every Friday and Saturday night in October as they scare up some Halloween fun for a great cause.
- James and the Giant Peach - Plays in the Park
- Based on the children’s book by Roald Dahl, this delightfully fantastical musical tale is sure to please audiences both young and old! Showtimes are October 5, 6, 12, 13, 19.
- Scarecrow Stroll - Cranford
- Starting October 11th, over 100 scarecrows will line the streets of Downtown Cranford. The scarecrows are created by residents, businesses, organizations, schools, and families.
Pumpkin Patches
Details: Gianmarese offers hayrides, corn maze, pony rides, and you-pick-it pumpkins too! Admission is $3 per person.
Details: In addition to you-pick-it apples and pumpkins, Von Thun Farms hosts Fall Festival PLUS Weekends from Sept. 14 to Oct. 29. With over 20 activities and attractions, vendors, food, and entertainment, there's something for everyone. Enjoy live country music, wandering performers, and fun contests and games. Admission packages vary from $22.99 to $39.99.
This year Von Thun Farms will also offer Moonlight Maze & Campfires on the last weekends in October. Navigate the 6-acre, interactive corn maze by moonlight or flashlight and take a hayride out to their pumpkin patch for a campfire and s’mores! Online tickets are strongly encouraged.
