Young Historians Wanted! Unique Museum Programs Near Edison

Kids Can Dig Into the Past and Curate Their Own Exhibits at Wicoff Museum

The Wicoff Museum has two awesome programs to get kids excited about history and museums! Just about 30 minutes from Edison, the museum is hosting the Junior Archivists Club for ages 9-11 and the Junior Historians Club for ages 6-8. Both programs are all about sparking creativity and curiosity while giving kids a hands-on way to explore history.

Junior Archivists Club (Ages 9-11)

Budding historians will dive into the world of museum curation, creating their own exhibits while exploring local history. Each Junior Archivist will receive a special t-shirt, binder, and membership card. Activities include:

✅ Exploring museum collections and archives

✅ Hands-on research and interactive projects

✅ A field trip to visit other museums in Middlesex County

✅ Designing and showcasing their own museum exhibits

Junior Historians Club (Ages 6-8)

Perfect for younger history lovers, this club focuses on solving museum mysteries and uncovering the past. The spring session, Digging Up the Past, introduces kids to archaeology, including a mini excavation! Using the museum’s collections and grounds, members will take part in fun, hands-on activities. Each participant gets a JHC t-shirt, logbook, and weekly worksheets to track their discoveries.
