Introduction to Afro-Cuban Dance

Description

During our class series, we will: 

• Explore the history and cultural significance of Afro-Cuban dance. 
• Learn how to recognize and identify a variety of Afro-Cuban rhythms including Güiro, Rumba, and Comparsa.
• Learn how to execute the basic movements that are danced with each of these rhythms.
• Learn the use of Call and Response (Antiphony) in song to complement the movement and rhythms.

Class size is limited to 12 students age 14 and older and registration is required.
